Brown Butter Sauce


1 stick unsalted butter

2 T balsamic vinegar

11/2 T brown sugar

¼  cup chopped toasted pecans/walnuts  *optional



Preheat oven to 350. toast nuts (if using) for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned.  Cool and chop, set aside. Melt butter in skillet or saucepan on medium heat.  Cook 4-5 minutes until butter begins to brown. Watch carefully so that butter does not burn! Remove from heat and add vinegar and brown sugar. Stir well until sugar dissolves. Spoon sauce over ravioli and sprinkle with nuts – if using.
